It's Harvest Time
"And who is my neighbor?" One question can show whether we're working in the harvest or just enjoying the blessing.
In this Sunday message, Pastor Art Wilson preaches "It's Harvest Time" from Luke 10. He first looks back at the first thing God wants, which is true worship (John 4:23). Then he turns to the second: reaching the harvest. Through the story of the Good Samaritan, he calls the church to move from receiving to giving, show mercy to people whose names we may never know, and sacrifice together to finish the house God is building for the harvest.
KEY POINTS:
• 🙌 What God Wants First - The Father is seeking true worshippers who will worship Him in spirit and in truth (John 4:23)
• 🌾 The Harvest Is Great - "The harvest is great but the workers are few" (Luke 10:2). God wants a soul-winning church, not just an occupying church
• ❓ "And Who Is My Neighbor?" - Getting rid of the "and who" spirit that looks for a loophole out of caring for someone else
• 🚶 Don't Pass By - The priest crossed the road and the temple assistant only looked. Could a church ever be too busy for the harvest?
• ❤️ Compassion Changes Plans - The despised Samaritan changed his plans, put the man on his own donkey, and stayed with him all night
• 🏗️ Sacrifice for the Storehouse - The harvest is people and the church is the storehouse, as TIC launches the push to finish the new sanctuary
